Emerging supplier giant Ross says he'll focus on Europe first.(News)

Billionaire Wilbur Ross says he's ready to make a big splash in the European supplier industry.

The New York financier told Automotive News Europe that he will focus mainly on Europe until the parts business in North America becomes less volatile.

In January, Ross established International Automotive Components Group, which bought most of the European interiors business of supplier Collins & Aikman Corp., which is in Chapter 11 reorganization.

He also has agreed to take Lear's European interior plastics operation in exchange for a 34 percent stake in International Automotive Components.
