Bergen, CVS expand pact.(Bergen Brunswig Corp.)(Brief Article)

ORANGE, Calif. -- Brunswig Drug Co. has announced an expansion of its relationship with specialty pharmacy chain CVS ProCare -- the fastest-growing segment of CVS Corp.

The deal broadens a five-year agreement that had been in effect for six months. Under terms of the amendment, which is expected to generate $150 million in incremental new business the first year and more than $1.6 billion over the life of the contract, Bergen Brunswig will provide pharmaceuticals to ProCare's retail apothecary business. Bergen Brunswig currently supplies drugs to ProCare's mail-order pharmacy.
